The Mission and Values of Hope Lutheran Church
Hope provides a way in our community where all people can connect to serve others and strengthen our faith in Jesus Christ.
Hope’s Mission and Values
Our mission is to bring all God’s people into a life-changing relationship with their Savior, Jesus Christ. Hope’s values center around the four great gifts of God:
The Bible
The Bible is the basis for everything we do at Hope. We believe it to be the inspired and errant word of God and this is reflected in how we worship, how we study the Scriptures, and how we commune as brothers and sisters in Christ.
Faith
Our first goal is to inspire and nourish faith in Jesus Christ which saves us from sin, death, and the devil. And since, “…faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ….” (Romans 10:17), the word of Christ–the Gospel- is proclaimed every Sunday from the pulpit and in adult and children’s Bible study.
Hope
Hope is faith applied to the future – the certainty that, “…in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28). We strive to be a lighthouse of hope in our community.
Love
Finally, there is love. We believe that love is not an emotion but a way of living in which the needs of others take precedence over our own needs. We practice love by taking care of each other and by supporting social ministries with our time and finances.
