Outreach at Hope Lutheran Church

We share God’s love by living in a way in which the needs of others take precedence over our own needs.

The members and friends of Hope practice love by taking care of each other and by supporting numerous social ministries with our time, energy, and financial resources. Hope’s most recent outreach efforts are highlighted below.

Hope’s Youth Stuff Slippers for Mothers in Need

The servant hearts of Hope’s youth were have been hard at work! All the children assembled Valentine’s Day bags with knitted or crocheted slippers, personal items, and love notes for the mothers at Redeemer Crisis Center. We’re grateful for all of the members and friends who donated the many items needed to share the love of Jesus with our neighbors this winter!

Hope Provides Thanksgiving Meal Bags to Community

Once again, the overwhelming generosity of Hope’s church and preschool provided Thanksgiving Meal bags for families in the Aurora community in November 2025. The 40 bags included non-perishable food items as well as a frozen turkey and pumpkin pie. The youth of the church packed the bags that received a special blessing at the end of worship. Many thanks to all who donated food and provided monetary donations to provide this very needed outreach to our neighbors.

Toy Donations Help Families in Need

The overwhelming donations of infant and toddler toys from Hope’s church and the preschool will be a blessing to Redeemer Crisis Center this winter.  Thank you to all who donated these gently used toys that will be distributed through the Babies’ Care Program at the Center. This program provides diapers, wipes, new and used seasonal clothes, books, used toys and other baby items to pregnant parents and parents of children up to the age of 2 ½ years.  Parents must attend a monthly informational meeting to receive items.

Collected Items for Little Annie’s Hope Train

Hope’s donated items for Little Annie’s Hope Train filled the trunk of a car and were be presented at the 2025 LWML Fall Retreat. Items collected were bottled water, men’s white tube socks, toilet paper, wash cloths, regular size toothpaste, toothbrushes, men’s roll-on deodorant. Little Annie’s Hope Train is based out of Mentor, Ohio and assists the homeless, the hungry, and those in need by stocking 19 outdoor food pantries in Lake and Geauga County.

Blessed to Bless Others with Food Assistance

Hope’s unit of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League collected food donations for the food pantry at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Mayfield Heights. The food pantry provides food assistance to individuals and families in emergency situations or with ongoing needs. The members and friends of Hope are blessed to share their blessings with others.

Soap Donations for Neighbors

Thank you to the many members and friends who generously shared God’s gifts by donating 159 bars of soap, 30 bottles of shower wash, and 47 bottles of hand soap for the Center of Hope in Ravenna and Redeemer Crisis Center in Cleveland. The combined donations from Hope’s preschool as well as through a Thrivent Financial grant will be delivered to both food banks that provide necessary toiletries for those in need in our communities.
